Submitting your blog or website sitemap to Google is really important if you want to improve your blog indexing rate and visibility on search engines.
Before you can submit your blog sitemap to Google via Google Webmasters, you must have created your sitemap already and also verified your blog with Google Webmaster Tools.
If you have not done this, you should check out this post on How to Create a XML Sitemap for Your Blog. If you purchased my Amazon Cash Blueprint Training, I have already showed you how to Create Sitemaps for your Amazon sites in the package. Just follow the steps in the SEO Module of ACB and you are good to go.
That said, lets go through the process of submitting our sitemap to Google.
Step 1 – Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/ Click the sign in button to login to your webmasters dashboard.
Step 2 – In the next page which is your Google webmasters dashboard, click on the blog that you want to submit it’s sitemap. In the image below, I clicked bloggingtipstoday.com
Step 3 – From the Left Options pane of Google Webmasters page, Select “Optimization” and click “sitemaps”. See the image below.
Step 4 – If you have Selected sitemaps in step 3 above, you should now have landed on the page where you will be submitting your sitemap. To submit your sitemap, click the ADD/TEST SITEMAP Red button at the very top of right hand side of the page.
Step 5 – After clicking the ADD/TEST SITEMAP Red button, enter your blog sitemap URL, usually http://www.your – domain.com/sitemap.xml or “/sitemap_index.xml (for my ACB Students) and click the “SUBMIT SITEMAP” button.
Your sitemap should be submitted and you should get a notification to refresh that page to see your changes.
That is all you need to do regarding sitemap submission. If you have any question or issues, you can drop them in the comments section.
