Are you an Amazon affiliate?
Are you Planning to make money as an Amazon Affiliate?
Would you like to know the BIGGEST mistake you can make as an Amazon Affiliate?
If yes, then you are about to find out one BIG mistake that can cost you thousands of dollars in Amazon affiliate commissions.
Joining the Amazon affiliate program is very easy, all you need to do is to visit the Amazon affiliate website and fill a short sign up form and you are good to go.
The sad part of is that being an Amazon affiliate does not guarantee your success, I was an Amazon affiliate for over 3 years and I didn’t make 1 cent because I didn’t know where to start or what I was doing!
The REAL secret to success with Amazon affiliate business is to be smart and know what you are doing. If you are smart enough and you know what you are doing, there is no limit to the amount of money you can earn as an amazon affiliate.
One BIG question that I get asked often about Amazon business is “What Product should I promote”. I usually tell people that there is no product on Amazon that is not selling, but there are products on Amazon that you should NEVER Promote.
I have discovered that the biggest mistake amazon affiliates are making is promoting those products that they are never to promote; the worst part of it is that a lot of affiliate marketers are promoting these kinds of products with PASSION!
If you own a copy of my Amazon Cash Blueprint training, you would have learnt about this mistake and I took my time to do justice to it and I showed you how to avoid making this mistake.
So, what is the BIGGEST MISTAKE you can make as an Amazon affiliate?
The Answer is: Promoting Low Priced Products!
By my definition, Low priced products are any products with a price tag less than $100.
If you are one of those marketers that are promoting products wuth prices less than $100 USD, then you are making a BIG Mistake.
Your goal as an Amzon affiliate is to make money, and for you to achieve that, you get paid an average 4% commission on each product you sell. If you sell a product of $40, you get paid $1.6, so, tell me how many $40 products will you sell before you hit $100 in a month?
By my calculation, you will have to sell 63 products to hit $100/month earnings benchmark.
Why on earth will you want to make 63 sales in other to make $100 when you can hit $1000 with just 50 sales?
Let’s see an Example,
Let’s say you are promoting a product worth $200, and you are getting 4% commission which equates to $8 per sale right? If you make 50 sales, that is a whooping $400 if affiliate earnings compared to 63 sales that would have earned you $100.
I know this sound like common sense, but believe me, a lot of people out there are making this mistake and that is one of the major reasons why they earn peanuts at the end of the month.
BIG players out there usually promote products with good prices, prices above $100 and that is why they have a FAT cheque but the will never tell you this secret because that is one of those things that gives them an edge over you.
If you are one of those affiliate marketers promoting low priced products with passion, now is the time for you to have a change of tactics and start promoting products with higher prices and start getting a better ROI from your effort.
But if you are satisfied with earnings peanuts, you may stick with promoting low priced products!
As for me, I don’t want to earn peanuts for all the effort and hard work that I put into my business, so I choose the smart way to more profit.
P.S. – If you have not seen my Amazon cash blueprint, I will recommend you check it out. I have 2 versions of the product, I have one for Nigerians and I also have an International version.

Great article Joseph. very helpful information.
Hi Fernando,
glad you like it.
I sell 20-50 dollar products and also 100-1000 dollar products on Amazon. The lower priced products are very easy to sell as they have little competition from other affiliates. the sales from the lower priced products increase the commission rate for the higher priced products. So, within a few days i am selling high priced products and getting the maximum commission on them.
Use low priced products to boost the commission rates of your higher priced products!
Hi Yvonne,
